Canary Wharf is a popular place to photograph because of its unique backdrop occupied by world-class companies, high-quality urban architecture, landscaped parks, docks and over 200 shops, bars and restaurants.

How to apply

If your company is new to the online e-permits system, please fill in the form and email to pressoffice@canarywharf.com

Once you receive a confirmation email and login details, please read through the below text and make the online application.
Who requires a permit?

All filming or photography on the Canary Wharf Estate requires written permission from Canary Wharf Group plc (CWG), with the following exceptions:
  • Filming or photographing for amateur or student purposes using minimal equipment in an outside area (students should have with them a student ID card and a letter of introduction from their educational institution).
  • Canary Wharf tenants / occupants filming or photographing inside the offices of companies based on the Canary Wharf Estate.
Things to know before applying

CWG’s primary obligation is to the 90,000 plus workers, shoppers and travellers who come onto the Estate every day.

This means that non-essential filming and photography requests may be declined, and all filming and photography must minimise disruption and ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

Applicants are advised to apply at least two working days in advance for projects not requiring a risk assessment, and at least five working days in advance of projects that do require a risk assessment.

Urgent or same day requests, for example from news crews, will be dealt with if resource allows. If unsure, please call the Press Office for guidance.

To apply for a permit, please read through the below information and fill in the e-permits form.

Equipment and Health and Safety

CWG views health and safety as being of paramount importance. If the filming or photography requires equipment in addition to a handheld camera or tripod, a method statement and risk assessment must be completed along with the application form.

The laying of track is not permitted on the Estate.
