The Canary Wharf Ice Rink has announced its secondary sponsor for the 2009/10 season as Saxo Bank, one of the world’s leading online trading and investment banks, which is resident at 40 Bank Street, Canary Wharf.
The sponsorship includes branding, hospitality and an on-site presentation introducing Saxo Bank’s trading platforms and an introduction to Saxo Bank’s asset classes.
Brian Jokat, Managing Director of Skateco UK Limited, said,
“In addition to being a great venue in which to host its corporate clients, Saxo Bank’s sponsorship of the Canary Wharf Ice Rink is integral to its campaign to extend consumer awareness of the brand.”
Stuart Rice, Head of Marketing Saxo Bank stated,
“The sponsorship of the ice rink has provided an ideal opportunity to present the Saxo Bank brand to the Canary Wharf community.”
The ice rink returns for its fifth year from 14 November when Canada Square Park will transform into a unique ice-skating facility, set against one of London’s most breathtaking backdrops.
Nestled beneath the world famous Canary Wharf towers, the ice rink will offer entertainment seven days a week. The adjacent Moose Bar will provide welcoming, belly-warming refreshments for skaters including delicious mulled cider, soups and sandwiches. The rink will be situated next to the new Park Pavilion in Canada Square, home to Canary Wharf’s newest bars and restaurants.
“Our skating and hospitality experience is among the best in London and our rink is complemented by a vast array of shops, bars and restaurants, making for a delightful day or evening out for families, couples or even the whole office,” adds Brian Jokat.
Skating lessons for beginners can be booked through the onsite box office from 14 November and skate hire will be provided at no additional cost.
The skating season runs until 21 February with the rink open between 9.45am and 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9.45am-7.30pm on Sundays.
