Start spreading the news. The magic of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior is being recreated at a free open air concert in Canada Square on 10 September.
Tribute to the Rat Pack, proudly sponsored by Barclays, has been added as a last minute addition to the Canary Wharf Arts and Events calendar.
The trio, backed by the Peter Long Orchestra, will be playing the songs made famous by the richest, coolest men in Hollywood. The programme includes The Lady is a Tramp, Mr Bojangles, Come Fly With Me, King of the Road, Fly Me To The Moon and much more.
Lucie Moore, Arts and Events Manager at Canary Wharf Group, was delighted with the late add-on to the Twilight Delights concert series:
“The free outdoor concerts have proved a hit this year. We’ve frequently had over a thousand people in Canada Square Park, and over 4,000 came to the Jazz Festival over four days.
“Given the quality of Tribute to the Rat Pack and the Peter Long Orchestra, we think this will prove just as popular.
“The concerts, along with the Park Bar in Canada Square, create a real buzz and give people a different experience of Canary Wharf,” she said.
This is a last chance for a taste of summer concerts at Canary Wharf this year. After Tribute to the Rat Pack the Arts and Events programme moves indoors to the East Wintergarden, with Beth Rowley, Dodgy and the Canary Wharf Comedy Club amongst the autumn line-up.
Canada Square can still expect to be busy over the winter months. New restaurants and bars Canteen, Roka, Wahaca and the parlour open in the new Canada Square Pavilion in October and November and the Canary Wharf Ice Rink returns between November and February.
