Boisdale of Canary Wharf Opens

Flagship venue salutes a new era for Canary Wharf as a culinary capital

Boisdale of Canary Wharf opens it doors for the first time today, marking another large step for Canary Wharf towards the centre of London’s food and culture scene.

Boisdale of Canary Wharf becomes the iconic business and shopping district’s largest hospitality venue, with 12,000 square feet and capacity for over 550 patrons. It boasts Jools Holland as the official patron of the nightly live jazz, blues and soul music programme, accompanied by the world’s leading Scottish restaurant, whisky bar and cigar terrace overlooking Cabot Square.

Boisdale is the eighth bar and restaurant to open in Canary Wharf in the past two years, joining the likes of ROKA, Jamie’s Italian, Rocket, Canteen and Wahaca. In adding to established premium restaurants such as Plateau, First Edition and Sri Nam, the new bars and restaurants have positioned Canary Wharf as a dynamic ‘hospitality hot-spot’, boosting visitor numbers in the evenings and weekends.

Camille Waxer, Vice President of Retail at Canary Wharf Group said: “Boisdale’s opening is a coming of age for Canary Wharf’s hospitality scene. We’ve worked very hard over the past two years to enhance Canary Wharf as a food and culture destination and it’s very pleasing to see it come to fruition.

“Boisdale of Canary Wharf should be very successful. It is among the best in the world at combining top-quality music and food and the Canary Wharf venue brings something completely different, both to the Wharf and its other venues in London.

“It will help more people recognise that Canary Wharf is not just a place to work, it also has some of London’s best arts, events, hospitality and shopping too.”

Boisdale of Canary Wharf’s live music programme is managed by Geoff Todd, formerly of Ronnie Scott’s. The menu features the finest ingredients from Scotland and around the British Isles and is overseen by Michelin-trained Executive Head Chef Andy Rose.
